Devon

If you have a facebook account (and even if you don’t you can sign up for one) Please Join This Group that I set up for him. It’s called Celebrating the life of Devon Curling. That way you can participate in the furthering of Love, Kindness, Goodness, and Compassion in the world.
I’ve also set up a new group to commemorate the upcoming birthday of Devon on September 26th, it is named The Devon Curling Leukemia Wish Granting Organization
Devon and Frostee RuckerI created this page as a tribute to my nephew Devon Curling who died on December 31st, 2007. Devon was an incredibly special child. The best word that I can come up with to describe him in Christlike. There was no doubt that there was love in his heart. He was one of (if not the most) giving people I’ve ever known in my entire life. He was selfless. I believe there was a reason that Devon was placed in our midst, and that was to teach us all something about life. Not that it’s short or to cherish every day, because our ultimate goal is to leave this earth and be with our Heavenly Father; but to be kind. To be kind to our fellow man, to be gentle, to be loving, to offer of ourselves. With Devon’s life touching so many, all of those traits that were so good within him will move forward for days, months, years, decades, and centuries to come. One day not so far, and far off into the future those that were touched by him will tell stories of him to their friends and loved ones. Those messages will resonate from within those being told, and they’ll take a piece of him with them. I believe that from the depths of my soul.

I’ll be adding things to this page as time goes along, like links to stories about Devon and his family and lists of his favorite things, and pictures. Please leave your personal stories that you remember about Devon. Just type them into the comment form below (comments are moderated to avoid spam and abusive ones, but don’t worry I’ll approve them when I check the site which is often). I hope you come back to visit often.

Update:

As some of you know, and for those of you who don’t my nephew Devon Curling died on December 31st, 2007 of Leukemia. He was a mere eleven years old when he went to Heaven. He suffered for three long years with Leukemia, only to have it take him.

Devon’s birthday would have been September 26th, so in commemoration of that day his family is sponsoring another child with Leukemia. What is being done is raffle tickets are being sold, and prizes will be granted, but since a good number of the prizes are here local I am looking for donations of money to buy those prizes. Ten percent of all the proceeds will also benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.

If you’re willing to our of the generosity of your heart give to this worthy cause, please donate:
